Oh well. I meant to congratulate the Founding Bettys on 60 followers! I didn't want to jinx you guys by mentioning it, but since last ~July when I joined (when there were 47 followers), you've grown by an average of 2 new followers a month! Now I've jinxed it!Betty Luluhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/17634519999898307583noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-931981138747432610.post-64888260692811452402012-01-12T07:54:28.964-08:002012-01-12T07:54:28.964-08:00Yes. However, I have the feeling I will go blind reading the comments. I thought the lines were overlapping, then I marked a passage copied it into a word document where it looked normal. But in the blog - you can see it in a marked passage - the lines do overlap each other. Could you change that please? Thank you.
Betty AnonymousAnonymousnoreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-931981138747432610.post-38457240595959509872012-01-12T07:10:31.816-08:002012-01-12T07:10:31.816-08:00Ha! And you did have Ernest's correct address before, too:

"His address at enlistment was 77 Brightwell Ave, West Cliff (on Sea), South End.

The 1922 Kelly’s Directory lists Ernest still at 77 Brightwell Ave."

I looked up the address (google maps) and what place name did I see? Southend-on-Sea. (Wiki: Westcliff-on-Sea is a suburb of Southend-on-Sea, a seaside resort in the East of England and unitary authority in Essex.)
And this is where the "Ha!" comes in. Because I knew that one of the Oliviamintas went to Southend-on-Sea! Now I just had to consult with books.google.com to find out which of them did.

"To her delight Emma had written back; why didn't Miss Tilly go to Emma's sister who lived at Southend-on-Sea and did ..." (The Doubtful Marriage, page 49)

Great work, Betty Barbara and thanks to the Mijnheer, too.
Betty AnonymousAnonymousnoreply@blogger.com
