You may be thinking of Sir Fergus Cameron, who brings A Kind of Magic (1991) into the recently-a-bit-drab life of shorthand typist and Scotch exile Rosie Macdonald. I thought they were a little bit disco meets Ali G in da house, clothes to party in so they can use them after the olympics are finished. I thought the USA team looked more french with their berets but they had a famous designer too in Ralph Lauren and our local Sunday newspaper gave them 10/10 for their outfits as opposed to 5/10 for the Brits.Betty Carlanoreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-931981138747432610.post-55051961225064291362012-07-29T22:38:26.517-07:002012-07-29T22:38:26.517-07:00Perhaps the Brits' outfits were designed by Da...Perhaps the Brits' outfits were designed by David Bowie? They looked like they were having SO much fun. (Even if the Netherlands Antilles has recently been dissolved, and Sudan was unacceptably grim for the other fellow to claim citizenship...)
I don't know that I disliked the Brit outfits but they did look a bit dance-clubby rather than Olympic. Instead of the athletes, I was distracted by the women carrying the country names at the head of each group. An A-line, shapeless dress with faces printed on it?
