My husband's dad emigrated from Holland after WWII and they eventually settled in southern Ontario because of all of the Dutch immigrants that were there already. And, Princess Margriet was born in Ottawa during the war, so they declared that part of the hospital to be "extra territorial" so that she could derive her nationality from her mother, and therefore be Dutch.
