Betty is still great but she was perilously close to the edge here.Aussie Bettynoreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-931981138747432610.post-87618975555352249052013-01-15T11:23:03.651-08:002013-01-15T11:23:03.651-08:00Old money. Florence is a sweetie, with very good manners (see her meeting with Alexander's nanny when they stop by his country cottage, for example)and a temper to go with her 'bronze' hair.
I did get kinda frustrated with her for being so slow to have her real DR, but that's okay.
And I just loved the scene where she takes the file to the clinic and he loses his cool.
This being one of Betty's later books, we get to know that Alexander has dumped Eleanor before Florence does, which is nice. But Eleanor isn't one of The Betty's top of line 'other women'--she's not on stage long enough for that, so all of Florence's fretting about Eleanor seems thin.Barb in Marylandhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/11374278685536530837noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-931981138747432610.post-24461433736791049502010-11-08T17:13:40.176-08:002010-11-08T17:13:40.176-08:00Betty Barbara here--
