  1. Betty von Susie! Yoo hoo!

Just throwing this up at the top. Were you able to get September 14th off for a tea party? I need to reserve a hotel room for me and the PRT if you did.

Betty Caroline? Betty van den Betsy? Anyone else coming to the Dallas Fort Worth metroplex for Betty Day?

  2. Yes I am off that weekend. Did you actually want to do the Adolphus or a smaller tea shop?

  3. Sadly, I suspect Betty Ross and I can't make it to the Great State of Texas for Betty's Day this year. Is anyone doing anything in the Northeast? Betty Barbara? Army Betty? Betty van den Betsy? Betty JoDee? Y'all are welcome here in our tiny corner of Pennsylvania, but much more likely is something more centrally located for the Greater D.C. Bettys.

    1. CALLING ALL MID-ATLANTIC BETTYS!! Are we doing something for Bettysday?--I'm trying to catch up (as usual) but haven't found any plans yet.

    2. I second this call! Betty Barbara? Betty van den Betsy? Anyone? Hello-oooo? (What would The Great Betty do in this situation? Not sure but I suspect it would involve making a larger earthenware pot of tea plus toast with lashings of marmalade, and petting the cat.)

    3. Betty Barbara here--
As I wrote Betty JoDee earlier, I am totally unavailable to do any Bettysday celebrating with fellow Bettys. Sob, sniff!! Maybe next year.
However, I shall give the Great Betty a birthday toast with my morning cuppa on her day.

    4. That's okay. As they say in "rounders" (which isn't like baseball, but you get the idea)--there's always next year!

  4. Yea, B v S! We will see if we can get a room at the Adolphus for a nice weekend away from home, but I thought we were thinking of the Dallas Arboretum for tea. I'd prefer to do the 2 pm instead of the 11 am. What do you think? You know way more about the metroplex than I do.

PS I shall wear a hat for the first time in my life.

    3. Yes, please, on the reservations! I am really looking forward to meeting you. I wonder if any other TX Bettys will come. Betty Caroline?

I didn't get my Adolphus reservation done, but I will do that tomorrow. I've been at the nursing home with my sister most of the weekend.

    5. Yea! I reserved our room at the Adolphus for two nights then at another hotel in Ft. Worth that is closer to the zoo for the third night. I want to go to see Baby Belle before she gets too big. We haven't been to the Ft. Worth Zoo in years so that will be something fun to do for the day. Nice to have a three day trip and get away from town.

I'm going to send my email and phone number to Betty Debbie so that I don't have to put them up on the board. If you'll do the same, she can forward them back and forth! I don't think she'll mind, will you Betty Debbie? I'll do that right now.

PS Belle is an Asian elephant that was born in July at the Ft. Worth Zoo. If any of you haven't seen the video of her playing in the wading pool, google it. So cute.

    7. Yes, please sent it to Betty Debbie there, and she will forward it to me. Thank you, Betty Debbie! You are the best.

    9. Good morning, Betty in Brooklyn. And it's back to bed for you, Betty in Mountain View, sleep tight.

Bowie is sooo cute and quite vociferous. Cuuute.
      Meet Bowie

      Belle is a darling.

  7. I don't think I can make it home (Texas) for Bettysday because I will be there one month later for a charming niece wedding. I should be available to carpool around with Betty Magdalen for a Mid-Atlantic States fete. Everyone is welcome in Central Pennsylvania (we have a fun, eccentric tearoom fairly nearby or, for that matter, in my new, red 1845 dining room), but Central Pennsylvania is not as central as some other spots.

  8. What town is the wedding being held in Betty JoDee?

    1. Austin (I have to pack my anti-I'm Really Cooler Than Anyplace Else on the Planet spray to survive our obnoxious, but admittedly usually fun, capital. Oops, apologies to any Austin Bettys.)

    2. Snorg. Mijhneer van Voorhees calls Austin "Hot Portland". And while I love it here, it can become difficult tripping over everyone self-actualizing and Living With Intention! in a Walden-esque manner.
