  1. I give up. While working in the PP (private patients - what most americans are for the time being) Gussie has several patients in for T & A.
Are they all get simultaneous boob and butt jobs?

  2. I looked it up on Google. (I ♥ Google):

    T and A
    Definitions:
    1. Abbreviation for tonsillectomy and adenoidectomy.

  3. Ooh, you reassure me, BettyMary! In a book I'm working on now, I mention the uh, less salubrious meaning of T & A (in the context of reality TV) and Betty Ross queried this.

"Will people know what this means?"

"Well, Betty Neels would have known it to mean tonsils and adenoids but the rest of us, it has that other meaning..."

And you've proven me right. Yay.

I had my tonsils out when I was a kid. I just remember I got ice cream.

  4. The "T & A" ala Neels is so rare these days, I suppose those younger Bettys among us might have a bit of trouble getting the reference in that sense at all.

My younger grandson has adenoids that are huge and he has recurrent Strep infections, but more than one physician has refused to do anything about it. His parents want the surgery - get it done and over with. The docs say he must be sick at least 4 times a year.

Does a 3 month long case of Strep count??

  5. Yes, Betty Cindy, getting your tonsils yanked routinely stopped happening in the 60's. Betty Brigid has huge tonsils and was a carrier for strep, but they wouldn't pull hers.

Betty Magdalen, Understanding T & A might be generational. I'll ask Betty Ariel if it's a term she knows. Betty Ar is home from Alaska until they find a winter park or move on to Ranger J's folks in upstate NY.
Betty Megan is almost a generation younger than her sister. I'd ask her but she's at her cousins. TBC.....
