Love in Reality

I'm always happy to share happy news.  Here's the latest happy news from Betty Magdalen (via email):

To my fellow Bettys:

My first single title contemporary, Love in Reality, is live at
Amazon  and Barnes & Noble. Here's a blurb:
TV producer Rand casts a confident bartender, Lissa, as a ditzy reality show contestant, not realizing she’s actually Lissa’s law student twin, Libby. Life in The Fishbowl encourages scheming, but as Rand and Libby fall in love, they have to be honest with themselves—and each other.
Love in Reality starts The Blackjack Quartet. Book 3 of that series, Blackjack & Moonlight, was the Golden Heart finalist this year.

Now, I know what some of you might want to know. How much touring of Brighton is there in this book? Well, yes, the hero and heroine do make very quick trips to Brighton, but it’s at the more discreet end of the “Brighton Tours Ltd.” services spectrum. And those two scenes could be skipped. (Sadly, Brighton plays rather more of a role in the subsequent books in The Blackjack Quartet series. Just keeping it real.)

    1. Thanks, Army Betty. I hope there's something that speaks to the inner Betty. Maybe a certain dry sense of humor...?

I have a tee shirt that reads "Betty Neels wrote the first of 134 romance novels when she was 59." Under that, it reads, "I still have time."

I did it! I beat her (hah hah) by 2 years. (I turn 57 in a couple months.)

      One down, 133 to go...

    1. Betty Keira -- believe me, the court shoe is on the other foot! I am so amazed and impressed by all of you, but particularly you and Betty Debbie. I so hope you like my book but I don't expect ever to match the Great Betty, or (frankly) your & Betty Debbie's scintillating reviews of her work.

Still, there are some funny bits in Love in Reality...

  3. Congrats, Betty Magdalen! I can't imagine how proud you must be. I admire your dedication and talent! As a retired librarian, I can truly say that authors are my favorite people.

    1. Betty AnoninTX -- Thanks so much. I'm very pleased with it, incredibly proud of all the people who helped make it way better than it was going to be if I'd been left on my own, and slightly overwhelmed by the work involved in promoting one book while working on the next one. Oh, and with Christmas right around the corner!

But yes, I'm secretly proud of myself... LOL

  4. Just finished reading Love in Reality! (well, all but the two visits to Brighton - which were easily avoidable)

Fun story - even though I don't watch reality television or know anything about lawyer-y stuff (beyond making a will, I don't think I've ever seen a lawyer, professionally, that is), I was able to thoroughly enjoy the dilemmas that Libby and Rand found themselves in.

    Good job, Betty Magdalen!

    1. Wow, that was fast! I'm so glad you enjoyed it!

Any chance I could persuade you to leave a review at Amazon? You could be the first one to review it. (Here's the page.) All my little stars are empty, which is sad. Like Araminta Theodosia's bedsit after the RDD takes away the cat and its box of dirt.

(Did that strike the right note of needy without being unpleasant? I do hope so.)

    2. Done! It's brief, but you no longer have lonely stars.
