Hi Betty Debbie,Not sure why it's not viewable, but maybe you can insert this pic of me in my slip cover scrap short set into the comments for the Valentine for Daisy reprisal. My grandma sewed slipcovers for a living for many years. A man would go out and measure, mark, pin, and then bring the material to grandma and she'd sew them up in her basement. My sisters and cousins all had outfits like this in many floral patterns!
Hope all's well with Betty Keira. Those forced marches are brutal! Betty Megan is at band camp this week, being forced to march in synch with a flute! So glad I didn't volunteer to chaperone!
Take care, Mary
Adorable picture!
I just heard from Betty Keira (she was borrowing a ranger lady's phone)...she's still alive!
Ridiculously adorable! All children should wear slip-cover shorts sets!
ReplyDeleteI once wore what was officially a nightgown to a wedding, when I was about eight. The nighties were fancier than any of the party dresses available for little girls in summer, so... (I don't believe anyone sussed.)
As I delightedly catch up with everything I've missed since you began publishing 19 months ago, I notice that I'm sharing the blog this evening with someone from Johur Bahru, Malaysia. I wish that person would comment...
ReplyDeleteSo cute with the tummy showing! What a pose.
ReplyDeleteAnd of course there was the Von Trapp Children's playclothes... "you mean to tell me my children have been going about Salzburg in these...?" "...and having a mah-velous time!"
