I may not know art, but I know what I like.
Betty Cindy started this darling little RDD (Rich Dutch Doctor) before her recent bout of health issues...we're so glad she's back, and not only back, but she's brought along a friend.
Here's what she had to say:
I do hope you aren't underwhelmed. ;-)
me
Silly Betty! I adore him from the top of his lint fair head to the bottom of his handmade Italian shoes. My only question? What's his name? Let's hear some ideas from our fellow Bettys.

He's wonderful. I'll get the name started, shall I?
ReplyDeleteProfessor Baron ...
Marc van der...
ReplyDeleteter Salis
ReplyDeleteOkay, someone add the Fries name at the end and we're good to go!
ReplyDeletede Friesdijkstra?
ReplyDeleteProfessor Baron Marc van der ter Salis de Friesdijkstra.
ReplyDeleteOR..............
Prof. Colonel Zapp ster de Bran Nigan
Come on, you gotta admit there is a likeness. LOL
Betty Cindy,
ReplyDeleteYou are truly talented and amazing.
Going on record as LOVING this bobble head! (Despite the slight resemblance to a revolting cartoon character.)
Betty Barbara here--
ReplyDeleteOhhh, he is soooo cute!
Hmm, I was thinking something simple, like Litrik van der Hotten.
I think he is darling! He can rescue me out of a rat-infested canal anytime. Does his head actually bobble?
ReplyDeleteHe's adorable! I think I'd better leave the naming to you gals, though. I'm not very good at it. :-)
ReplyDeleteLove it. Love the Bobblehead, love the names. My hat is off to you all!
ReplyDeleteHis head actually does bobble, yes.
ReplyDeleteDo you know my family and friends think we're all quite loopy? ;-)
me<><
PS I could take a short video if you'd all like to see him do his thing.
BTW, I hate, hate, hate Blogger which ate my much longer comment about why he's wearing a turtleneck (to hide the spring, of course, and to support his head when he's not bobbling) and also giving credit to my dearest husband who came up with the solution to my "spring" problem. I was trying to wind my own but it didn't have enough "spring." He suggested I take apart an old ink pen and use its spring. Perfect!

Isn't it funny how our own RDDs keep getting snookered into this thing?
ReplyDeleteAND, for the record, on Bettysday with Betty Magdalen I warned her that I knew from bitter experience that she should get in the habit of always hitting "copy" on her comment before "Post Comment," or she will rue (hear my John Wayne here) the day. She politely agreed while really blowing me off *laugh. Just sayin'....
I think we do need a Bobble Video--what would the music be? Sibelius?
Or perhaps Grieg? I think a bobble-head would look adorable bouncing along to In the Hall of the Mountain King.
ReplyDeleteI made the vid and sent it - it's up to ya'll to put it to music, if you so desire. :)

Betty JoDee -- I was hitting copy on all my longer comments, but the shorter ones worked just fine. But then, of course, Blogger moved the goal posts and "shorter" became longer...
ReplyDeleteCould be worse -- I have a writer friend on Twitter's whose entire blog disappeared from WordPress because she violated the Terms of Service but they wouldn't tell her what she'd done. (They gave it back, but never did say what the problem was...)
I can't wait to see the video - but right now my yahoo mail is being stupid.
ReplyDeleteBetty Barbara here--
ReplyDeleteWell, phooey! I can't even spell RDD Bobble's name correctly: That's Litrik van der Hottnes.
I can't wait to see the video of the bobbling head in action.
I am so out of the pop culture loop that I was unaware (until Betty Mary supplied the link!!) of his remote resemblance to that cartoon dude. And let's just keep it that way, okay? Litrik the BobbleHead is waaaay cooler, right??
