Betty Magdalen had a great idea last week - and after some intense discussions between The Founding Bettys, we decided to give it a whirl. Here's what we're going to try - each week we will pick one review and post it on Monday. Whichever one of us who didn't do the review will add an introduction. Please chime in with your comments. We'll be going in the same order we initially reviewed them, so our first pick is...(drum roll please)...
Monday, May 2nd

Professor Gideon Beaufort, 35 years old, a professor of economics!
Founding Bettys--
ReplyDeleteOh thank you, thank you, thank you!
Squeeeee
Betty Barbara
I second Betty Barbara's sentiments, thank you, thank you!!!!
ReplyDeleteAbsolutely! I never want this to end! XO
ReplyDeleteRDD Redux -- I love it!
ReplyDeleteBrilliant and Grand!!!
ReplyDeleteI know that's Irish but I gotta write what I know! This will give me a chance to read them all!
Just heard from #1 son. DIL had the Scleral Buckling Surgery on her eye today at 4:30 EST. Eye surgeon said all went well. They had lots of extra medical peeps checking the baby. # 1 Grandson has already named he/she Thor (don't know gender yet, so this might be tricky ;)
They got a good heart beat before and after surgery. So that's great. All we can do for now is keeping praying. Thanks to all who sent their prayers and positive vibes, and loaned their angels. 0O<EB
Yay! So glad the surgery went well. I hope for a speedy recovery. And maybe if it's a girl they could go with Thora? (How wonderfully Great-Aunt-ish is that?!)
ReplyDeleteYeah on the surgery and baby heartbeats! Baby Thor(a) is obviously a tough one (not to mention Mommy!).
ReplyDeleteBTW, which Betty is on in Spring, Texas (on the globe)? I'll be there in three weeks for a wedding. We could go to tea!
ReplyDeleteBettyMary, I'm go glad to hear your hopeful news. What a stressful time for all of you.
ReplyDeleteDid either of the founding Bettys ever post their top ten lists? I'd love to know that - and some general thoughts about what makes a good Neels novel in your minds.
That's a great idea. I think we'll be able to get to it next week...
ReplyDeleteAnd we can comment on additional facets of the books: the pets, the knitting, the names of faithful retainers, names in one book that are remarkably similar....The fun, the fun this will be.
ReplyDeleteBetty a486f2dc-70da-11e0-84b7-000f20980440 -- It's funny, but you just don't seem like a a486f2dc-70da-11e0-84b7-000f20980440. I always think of them as more numerate in their personalities...
ReplyDeleteCould we call you Betty a486f2dc for short?
:-)
One day I'll figure this posting thing out. Usually it pops up under my AIM account: dwhills
ReplyDeleteYeah, Betty Magdalen, I'm with you. I figured Betty a486f2dc-70da-11e0-84b7-000f20980440 for a Betty g385f2hf-66gh-83f8-83j2-747h93072048 instead.
ReplyDeleteOh, I'm so relieved! I came to the party late - now I feel like my curfew has been extended!
