Upcoming Reviews

Continuing our Weddings with Betty Month...

Monday, June 14th, Heidelberg Wedding. Shortest engagement ever, another bad girl named Miriam, the term "Brighton" is used, travelling to Portugal, rat infested cave.
Thursday, June 17th, The Secret Pool. Wedding dress pattern taken from a child's picture book, Dutch wedding, the only Neels that brings a real tear to my eye (very emotionally manipulative of you, Betty), handicapped child, 3 maiden aunts.

  1. I have a love/hate relationship with The Secret Pool. Don't want to give anything away, but Darling Betty was pretty manipulative in that one. On the other hand, I keep re-reading it!

  2. I'm with you...I do love The Secret Pool - but I have to be in the right mood to read it. It is definitely an outlier in the Neels canon, plotwise.

  3. Betty Barbara here--
Recently finished Heidelburg Wedding (Thank you Betty Debbie) and now I am eagerly awaiting your review. This should be fun!

  4. Secret Pool...yup, the lump in my throat never dissolved and I even shed a tear the first time I read it. But, to make up for the depressing story line, Betty does bring the couple (Fran and Litrik) back in a lot of her books, now blissfully happy with two kids to boot!

  5. Betty JoDee: I totally agree, but sometimes I. Can't. Help. Myself.
