I've got a Betty spreadsheet that you may find interesting. It's at https://spreadsheets.google.com/spreadsheet/ccc?key=0AtSP8nEMky0XdFdFekNTanpPanRETi01WW4yZXJGWEE&hl=en_US. Let me know if you have any ideas for its re-furbishment or otherwise improvement. (You may note that some fields are incomplete; for instance, I didn't add the "Heroine village" field until _Enchanting Samantha_, when "Langton Herring" knocked me to my figurative knees. Thank goodness it did, as to overlook "Gifford Ferris", "Hampton-cum-Spyway" and "Nether Ditchling" would surely be weep-worthy.)
Incidentally, I lucked onto your marvelous blog tonight, when I typed "Gijzelmortel" into a search engine. Devastated to learn it's fictional...
Betty Lulu -- Alas, no. I started one a bazillion years ago (like before computers, or after computers but still before 3.5 floppy disks) and it was never even remotely as nifty as Betty B's. Which totally kicks Betty butt, if she wouldn't mind my saying so.
Betty Betsy, how marvelous! You put in many things that I wish were recorded elsewhere. Keep up the good work! There is another similar list. The original was done by sliknl on the yahoo Betty Neels site. I converted it to a google doc for those who didn't have excel. It's got all the books, but much less information. Hope all are having a nice summer.
The Founding Bettys kicked around the idea of a spreadsheet type deal-i-o...for about 5 minutes, then our inate sense of 'that's way more work than I'm prepared to do' kicked in. Lucky for us there are other Bettys willing to do the work. Thank you!
Thank you all for your kind remarks. My s/s has only 134 books, which I believe is the number M&B/Harlequin credits to Betty N. However, slikni's spreadsheet (see BettyMary's post) lists 135. I'm missing one! It's "A Christmas Romance"! Theodosia does not sound familiar, so gosh do I have a birthday treat in store.

Dear Betty Betsy,
ReplyDeleteI ♥ your document!
