I'll take one Aston Martin, to go.

When I connected to the internet a couple of days ago, this article popped up on my Yahoo homepage and caught my eye.

"After his dramatic victory in men's figure skating on Thursday night, Evan Lysacek is the man with the golden medal. Lysacek's Olympic glory has given him the perfect excuse to indulge two of his favorite interests — cars and James Bond. ...he plans to reward himself for his Vancouver exploits with a top-of-the-range Aston Martin DBS sports car, the vehicle of choice for the last two Bond films starring Daniel Craig as Agent 007.

Lysacek currently drives a Range Rover and considered switching to a Bentley Coupe before eventually deciding on the Aston Martin, which starts at $269,000.... Gary Briggs, executive salesman of Aston Martin ... "The DBS has typical understated elegance and is very much the gentleman's sports car. It is a fine choice for an Olympic champion."

Lysacek can live the Bond lifestyle better than most. After all, he even has a villainous Russian nemesis in Evgeni Plushenko, the deposed Olympic champion who tried to belittle Lysacek for his refusal to perform a quad jump."
He was considering a Bentley Coupe, and now wants an Aston Martin? Those are Betty Neels' favorite cars! I'm so glad he didn't say he wanted something vulgar like a Mercedes Benz with lots of chrome (which is the car that vulgar rich people drive, in Neeldom). When I talked to Betty Keira about this, she told me to put as many pictures of him as I wanted to on this post because "he's a total babe."

Nice.

  2. Babe-y van Babe-Stein. Two thumbs way way up even if this is stretching...

Also, I probably won't be posting my Sun and Candlelight review until tonight. I have to take people to the airport and until then have to not ignore them entirely. But it will be awesome. Brighton Boys will be discussed.

  3. Since Betty Debbie told me Vera Wang designed his costumes I have had a change of heart - they were a little too feathery and fringed for me on a 'manly man'. But when Vera Wang puts it on a 'manly man' it does nothing if not enhance his manliness. He is very babe but with no accent it's not drawing me away completely....

  4. Very nice. I think Betty would approve even if he is a model when he's not on the ice.

  5. I managed to read Sun & Candlelight *and* Always & Forever over the weekend; am now reading Dearest Mary Jane. Will try to get all the ones you've reviewed so far read while still keeping up with new reviews. Death to my TBR pile, but that's the trouble with Neels -- one is never enough.

  6. Truly a pathetic attempt, in the immortable words of Notting Hill, to "hog the last brownie" ... so to translate, really, ladies, you needed NO excuse to have pic after pic of that stellar skater! Bring 'em on!!

  8. I was in a casino testing my luck at the Roulette table( our night out at a Comapny event) and instead of watching over my precious 5 dollars that were at that very moment being taken in by the "House", my eyes were glued to the big screen. Evan was skating his final piece and I was ....lost. What casino? What smoke filled room? What five dollars?
