He's tall. Check. He's large. Check. Lint fair hair. Check. Beaky nose. Check. Ruggedly handsome. Check. The hands of a surgeon. Maybe. He only has a few places where he falls a wee bit short:
- He is about 7 years too young...but he'll grow out of that.
- He is violently allergic to pet dander...hmm...he could still rescue puppies and kittens...but then he'd have to find another home for them.
- No accent, Dutch or otherwise.
- He's already married.
- Unfortunately, he is not fabulously wealthy. Yet.
Already married? Since when is that a barrier. All we need is for Mevrouw to suddenly leave him and die in a plane crash with her lover...But I'm pretty sure she won't. ;0)
ReplyDeleteHe's got the look, definitely!
ReplyDeleteVery nice. Is he dancing with a Betty in that picture? Definitely need the family tree in order to keep all your "mijnheers" apart.
ReplyDeleteAs we know, Betty Neels did branch out into non-Dutch heroes. Alas, despite having not one but two Brit Hubs, neither one even comes close to the Neelsian ideal: Tall (check), fair hair (no), blue eyes (one yes, one no), surgeon-like hands (close-enough), fabulously wealthy (one yes -- the one I divorced, natch!, one not-so-much), bookish (yeah, I guess), distracted (um, yes), own great cars (no), good with animals (one yes, one no), etc.
Okay, so they're actually closer than I realize. But really, no. If you met them, you'd know. Lovely chaps, but not Betty Neels-worthy.
Let me introduce you to my short Mexican code-monkey, Betty Magdalen.
ReplyDeleteMinjeer Nathan is my #3 child. He has one older brother and an older sister, then 3 (yes 3!) younger brothers.
ReplyDeleteIf Nathan's a Neels-worthy hero, what brand of heroine would I be?
ReplyDeleteWith your moxie, most definitely an outlier.
ReplyDeleteIf all the van der Stevejinks are getting together for Christmas, could you stage and film a short Neels scene starring Nathan and Rebekah? Tuck a little tinsel over Nathan's ears for silver at the temples, and he's perfect!
