Calling all Bettys! We are desperately seeking submissions for doormats. It's hard for me to come up with the perfect picture of a doormat - because doormats are seldom leading ladies. A true doormat is forgettable. It's not about looks so much as it is about personality. Or lack of personality.

ReplyDeleteHmmmmm...Why are we forgetting Olivia de Havalland in Gone With the Wind? That woman married an idiot and takes it and takes it. She's lovely herself but should have thrown Ashley out on his ear.
ReplyDeleteJoanne Woodward's performance in Rachel Rachel. Very difficult movie to watch, btw.

Jack Lemmon's character in Billy Wilder's The Apartment, and "Mr. Cellophane" himself, Roxie Hart's husband, Amos, in the musical Chicago.
