Heroine with the unlikely name of 'Theodosia', cat named Gustavus, mid-Victorian aunts with a housekeeper named Mrs. Trickey.
A Christmas Romance is a lovely confection of La Neels in the purest form. Perfect for an afternoon by the fire while a winter storm rages outside. Love it!
ReplyDeleteUh oh, the name "Theodosia" just makes me think of Aaron Burr's daughter of whom he was--hmmm, extraordinarily fond. She didn't end well....

ReplyDeleteI remember reading My Theodosia by Anya Seton (mumble,mumble) years ago as an impressionable teen and going through a whole box of Kleenex in the process. She died so young--(30).

ReplyDeleteGah! I don't have A Christmas Romance. How many times have I made the list and checked it twice (no -- they're all nice; she didn't write anything naughty!) -- only to discover later that I don't have something.

So excited for A Christmas Romance! I went to my local Neels-connection (ie: used bookstore) just this weekend trying to get the last of my fix because they were having a store-closing sale. (Luckily I found out they have another location about 15 minutes away) I brought along my alphabetized list of the over 100 books I already, and off to the right I had made a note to look for "Mistletoe Magic", an omnibus I had seen on Amazon months ago, that had a Neels with the heroine Theodosia. And what do you know, the very first book I found was "Mistletoe Magic". So I'm all set.

Thank you Betty Magdalen for the tutorial!!! I think I'll print up a copy and stick it next to my moniter - because it will take this thick brain a while before the hyperlink comes naturally.
ReplyDeleteNot to worry, Betty Debbie -- I've had to relearn the hyperlink several times. And I still can't do columns. Betty Ross can do columns in HTML (so that photos can go side-by-side), but he's a show-off.
